Calling all musicians!

Hey! You there!

Are you or someone you know an artist or in a band in the Glasgow area? Looking for exposure? Want a cheeky review of your tunes or just the chance to get your name out there more?

The Devilhorn Journal is looking for the chance to delve into the local music scene in search of those absolute gems hiding on the bus route and in that bar we've never heard of to interview, review and more importantly promote musicians that are, you know, doing stuff!

If interested, interviews can be face to face in a cosy little pub or through email if you have other commitments. Any of your existing material can be emailed over to thedevilhornhournal@outlook.com and we'll have a nosy and fire out a review if it suits!

This a great chance for some exposure for you and content for us. WIN WIN!

Sound good? Get in touch to take it further!

Moshing now Bullying? SLIPKNOT’s CHRIS FEHN thinks so.

The SLIPKNOT barrel-whacker has said in a recent interview with Music Review that “moshing has turned into a form of bullying”.

While discussing RANDY BLYTHE’s recent trial, Fehn commented:

"Yeah, that was a very sad situation I'm friends with Randy, and it was an unfortunate event that happened. I know that he's not that type of person at all — he would never hurt anybody."

“I think, especially in America, moshing has turned into a form of bullying. The big guy stands in the middle and just trucks any small kid that comes near him. They don't mosh properly anymore. It sucks because that's not what it's about. Those guys need to be kicked out."

“A proper mosh pit is a great way to be as a group and dance, and just do your thing."

Now I’m not one to shy away from a moshpit at any time, but I can see where Fehn is coming from. I like to live by “if you go into a moshpit looking to fight, you deserve to get battered”.

People want to enjoy a concert and mosh knowing that if you fall, your metal comrades will pick you up to continue the fun.

CLOSE GRIP frontman gunned down

BRADLEY HANCOCK was shot and killed following a heated argument after the band’s show.

The Salt Lake City frontman was involved in an argument between his younger brother and the now detained gunman, Quincy Earl Lawson. Outside the venue the situation escalated before Lawson pulled the gun and fired several shots at Hancock before fleeing.

Hancock later died from the injuries from the gunshots and he now leaves behind a fiancée and 1 year old.

My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
