BRADLEY HANCOCK was shot and killed following a heated argument after the band’s show.
The Salt Lake City frontman was involved in an argument between his younger brother and the now detained gunman, Quincy Earl Lawson. Outside the venue the situation escalated before Lawson pulled the gun and fired several shots at Hancock before fleeing.
Hancock later died from the injuries from the gunshots and he now leaves behind a fiancée and 1 year old.
My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.

Sharing Myles
SLASH and MARK TREMONTI have agreed on an arrangement of how MYLES KENNEDY will work with both bands.
Kennedy currently is the centrepiece with both ALTER BRIDGE and SLASH AND THE CONSPIRATORS. Both bands are huge and as both need time to record and tour it was an issue of how Kennedy would manage and perform for both sides.
Despite facing timing issues, Slash has commented that he is hopeful for the future of Kennedy working with both groups.
He tells VH1:
"We've built up such a good system for making it work. I don't have any intention of disrupting what Alter Bridge is doing and I don't think Mark has any intention of disrupting what we're doing.
"Myles was in Alter Bridge when I first started working with him, and the only reason he took the offer was because he was on a break from Alter Bridge.
"So we went out there and started touring, and we kept adding dates. And so he started writing stuff for the Alter Bridge record. So when that tour was over, he went straight into the studio with Alter Bridge and recorded the album, then went on the road.
"I started working on the stuff for Apocalyptic Love and sending it to Myles, so he was working on that while he was on the road with Alter Bridge. And we just went into this system. Like, we plan a lot of it ahead at this point, just to make sure."
Kennedy, Slash and The Conspirators are currently on tour promoting the release of the new albums World on Fire (which is fantastic, by the way).

SYSTEM OF A DOWN making a return?
SOAD could be hinting at a comeback to the music scene.
The band have recently announced their headlining gig in Moscow come April 2015, which sparks interest over whether this could be in anticipation or a new album.
As a one off show in Russia isn’t the most usual thing for a band to this could lead to something more with a fair amount of time from now till the gig.
Adding to the hype, drummer JOHN DOLYMAYAN announced a vague tweet saying:
“Yes, it’s true”
With no current idea of what it could be, whether it’s just the gig or the rumours of some new material from SOAD, the hype isn’t getting any softer.
Between a reunion of Dolymayan and Shavo, an empty gap in Serj’s solo project and the hope that new music would have come this year but fell through; maybe we could be looking at some new SOAD stuffs in the not so distant future.
Either way, I’ll be on top of it.

Mixed reaction as DOWNLOAD announce MUSE headliners
Opinions are varied on whether MUSE are suitable for DOWNLOAD
Following the Download announcement of more bands being added to the line up – MUSE, MARILYN MANSON and FAITH NO MORE - fans of both the festival and the band are taking to social media to vent their thoughts.
Granted, MUSE aren’t the standard metalhead’s first choice but Hysteria and Assassin would make some amazing moshpit material.
As the band work on a “heavier” seventh album with AC/DC producer MATT LANGE, they have been confirmed for a fair few rock festivals around Europe.
As a fan of both, I’m all for MUSE playing DOWNLOAD because you only have to go as far as Origin of Symmetry to hear what heavy potential they have.

COREY TAYLOR to release third book with an edited title
SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR mainman has finished his third book.
This publishing has been said to have nothing to do and is titled “You’re Making Me Hate You: An Uncommon Guide To Common Sense” to be on sale from June 30th 2015.
The description reads:
"In the tradition of the late great George Carlin, New York Times bestselling author and lead singer of SLIPKNOT and STONE SOUR Corey Taylor sounds off in hilarious fashion about the many vagaries of modern life that piss him off.
"Whether it's people's rude behaviour in restaurants and malls, the many indignities of air travel, eye-searingly terrible fashion choices, dangerously clueless drivers, and — most of all — the sorry state of much modern music, Taylor's humor and insight cover civil society's seeming decline — sparing no one along the way, least of all himself.
"Holding nothing back and delivered in Taylor's inimitable voice, 'You're Making Me Hate You' is a cathartic critique of the strange world in which we find ourselves."
The entertaining part of this book is the original title. Taylor recently mentioned what he wanted the book to be called on a Nerdist podcast.
You’re Making Me Hate You (Or How Justin Bieber Sucked A Million Dicks To Make His Money).
Strangely enough this comes from the same guy that wanted a music collaboration with the pop icon and heavy metal gods after a viral mash-up of the two hit big on the internet.
Regardless of it all, I’ll be looking forward to reading it when it’s out.

COREY TAYLOR: Gene needs to get out more
SLIPKNOT frontman COREY TAYLOR has once again followed up to GENE SIMMON’s comment that “rock is dead”.
The Knot mainman says band success can’t be related sorely on sales and numbers. Despite the amazing success of recently released album 5: The Gray Chapter from the band, he bases their success on other factors.
Talking to KLAQ he says:
"I think people put too much on sales, because that doesn't relate to how many people hear it. In this day and age it's more about getting people to hear the music.
"I love the fact that we had the highest sales in the first week for a metal band the whole year, in a long time. I'm proud of that. But at the same time that doesn't relate to how many people have heard it and bought specific songs.
"We had three million views for the Knotfest live streams and you don't get awards for that. We had so many million views of The Negative One video and The Devil In I video, and you don't get awards for that.
"Just the fact that we had almost 70,000 people over the Knotfest weekend proves something. You don’t always need a platinum album to relate that to success so, with all due respect to Mr Simmons; he needs to get out more.”

SCOTT IAN laughs off NEIL TURBIN attack
ANTHRAX guitarist IAN is left flattered after former singer compares autobiography to Lord of the Rings.
SCOTT IAN is left flattered after NEIL TURIBIN, the singer who left the band back in 1984, has slated the guitarists book as a “a new work of fiction”. This bitterness comes from the way he was made out to be in the book I’m The Man: The Story Of That Guy From Anthrax.
Turbin says:
“I find it very sad that somebody I've had no contact with for 30 years feels that it's necessary to fabricate lies about me in order to draw attention to themselves.
“I wish them all the luck in the world on their new work of fiction. I'm sure it must be as good as The Lord Of The Rings."
Ian responded as we’d expect; saying that he doesn’t really give a shit and takes it in his stride, speaking to BackstageAxxess he says:
“It's my book and I look at it in the same way as Anthrax looks at writing songs. When Anthrax writes songs, we don't care what anyone has to say about anything – good or bad – outside of the five guys in the band.
“And it's the same way I look at my book. I don't care what anybody has to say – good or bad. It's never changed the way I approach anything, so it doesn't matter to me.
“I will take the compliment of comparing it to The Lord Of The Rings, though. It's one of my favourite books of all time. I have to thank him for that."
With regards to his book and how Turbin is portrayed badly in it he comments:
“As soon as we started touring, Neil got ultra-cocky. He felt like he was the boss man and he became inflexible.
"Whenever we opposed any of his ideas, he threatened to quit. We hated his guts but we were powerless to do anything about it.”

Second DOWNLOAD announcement features more big names
DOWNLOAD has released more line-up additions to the bill.
Following the first line-up announcement yesterday, this morning MUSE, MARILYN MANSON, A DAY TO REMEMBER and FAITH NO MORE have been confirmed for the 2015 festival.
They will join SLIPKNOT, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, BLACK STONE CHERRY and JUDAS PREIST in the festival.
Interestingly enough, this will be MUSE’s first ever appearance at the predominantly heavy festival, and I can’t say I’m any less buzzed about it. The band has commented:
"We're really looking forward to Download. We’ve never played the festival before so it’s going to be really special."
FAITH NO MORE will be supporting the release of their first album since ’97 and have said:
"Hard to believe it’s been five years already, but what’s harder to deny is that a lot has changed. The last time we played Download the focus was on bringing back the past – now it’s all about the present and the future. Where it should be."
Mounting the second stage will be MARILYN MANSON who will be promoting his new album and has commented:
"It's been a few years since I’ve been at Download. The Pale Emperor will rise and I was born to cause chaos."
This is both ominous and awesome. Ominawesomous.
Updates will be posted.

LOOMIS is looming on ARCH ENEMY
Former NEVERMORE guitarist JEFF LOOMIS has jumped ship to ARCH ENEMY.
Loomis comments:
”I'm very excited to be playing with Arch Enemy. Michael Amott and I have stayed in contact over the years since we toured together when I was playing in Nevermore.
"Not only do I admire his guitar playing and songwriting, but I also consider him a close friend. To be able to share the stage with Michael, Sharlee, Daniel and Alissa is something I'm really looking forward to."
He joins the group just before the set off on their European tour for the recent release of album War Eternal. This move was not wasted time after former guitarist NICK CORDLE left to focus on other projects.
Cordle says:
"With War Eternal I believe we wrote an album together which will stand the test of time, and I wish them well for the future."
Over the band’s last few US shows Loomis has been unable to join so has been temporarily replaced with Michael Amott’s brother Christopher – the founding member of ARCH ENEMY.
Michael says:
”We all wish Nick the very best in his new endeavours and we are sure that you will hear much more from him. We're also super grateful to my brother Christopher for stepping in to finish the current American tour.
”The prospect of working with Jeff Loomis moving forward is truly awesome. Jeff is one of the best guitar players in the metal world in my opinion, as well as being a long time friend. I look forward to tearing it up on stages around the world together as we continue on the War Eternal' touring cycle throughout all next year and beyond."

The band’s legendary guitarist PHIL CAMPBELL has teamed up with kid rocking band PANDA PARTY for birthday song.
This is the beginning of an ongoing project the guitarist will have with the furry punks.
First reactions spark questions like “what the fuck?” and “WHAT THE FUCK?!” but looking beyond it, if this is how kids are getting into rock nowadays I’m all for it.
Obviously it’s not a personal favourite but hey, it’s not getting a backlash about Campbell selling out or going soft so who’s to take the mick?

Lombardo scores Insidious 3
Dave Lombardo, former member of SLAYER, has taken up the offer to work on the score for the next instalment of the Insidious series.
From the drummer who once worked on a Disney cartoon, he’s taken a u-turn in genre to now write for horror (then again, some Disney stuff can be scary if you’re on something).
Lombardo tells Metal Thunder Radio:
“I’m collaborating with Joseph Bishara, who is the music composer for the horror movies The Conjuring, Annabelle and Insidious. I’m working on Insidious 3 with Joseph, and we’re creating some drums for the new movie.
“I’m really excited to do this. I set up all the drums, today I ordered the drums that I’m gonna use. I’m gonna be performing with two cello players, a viola and a violin player under Joseph’s direction. And he’s an amazing composer. I’ve been listening to his stuff for a while now.”
Being a fan of both the films and the drummer’s work, it’ll be interesting to see how the two work together. Pleasantly, I’m hoping.
The film is due to be released summer 2015 so we can expect the full score to be released around then.

“Ultimate record” from AT THE GATES
Frontman TOMAS LINDBERG comments how the band’s 5th album At War With Reality challenged and intrigues fans.
Speaking to Full Metal Jackie, Lindberg says:
"I guess the start of the writing process was a little bit scary when we tried out the direction, but as soon as things started to come together I wanted this to be the ultimate At The Gates record and it proved to be just that, musically.
"But lyrically, it was so hard to grasp everything within one concept, so I just, what would take the listener by surprise? What would really challenge them as a comeback record? No one has really done a concept record as a comeback record.
"And I thought this might be really intriguing for the fans and showing them that this is a real album. It's not just, like, the best of At The Gates riff collection; it's actually a real album."
Following a string of comeback tours, AT THE GATES is a great example of how these can succeed. One year short of two decades out the game and they’ve made an entrance...again.
Lindberg adds:
"We didn't really understand how it would feel until we were actually in the studio, but we were prepared. We went through a very long writing and rehearsal process for this record, so we were really prepared.
"But actually going into the same studio again, the whole creative vibe was almost like a high — it was very intense and very inspiring, a very, very positive atmosphere for the whole recording. And I would say that creative flow was something that I had missed a lot. We feed off each other in that environment."
AT THE GATES will be back in the UK next month for their UK tour

The Rocking Dead – ANTHRAX main man to play zombie in hit TV show
ANTHRAX’s SCOTT IAN as been gored up and has taken to the role of a “walker” in TV show “The Walking Dead”.
Currently in its 5th season, Ian admits he has been a fan since the first episode and was a regular reader of the original comics that the show is based on.
Ian says:
"I'm a massive fan of the show. I just felt like, from the start, 'God damn it would be the coolest fucking thing if I could get to be a walker.'
"Just to see Andrew Lincoln standing there, it's surreal to watch him kill walkers...and I'm gonna be one of them. I'm just so fucking excited to be part of it."
Special effects expert Jeremy Aiello wanted to ensure that Ian was recognisable to fans in the show. He comments:
"Since he's a high-profile guy we probably wanna not completely cover up who he is. We might bring his bone stricture down a little to make him more gaunt."

The AC/DC guitarist has spoken out on the bands (former?) drummer’s current charges and behaviour.
Following a raid on his house, PHIL RUDD is now subject to an ongoing investigation into charges of threatening to kill and possession of drugs which could lead up to 7 years in prison. The original main charge of trying to procure murder has since been dropped on lack of substantial evidence.
In an interview with USA today, Young says that Rudd’s behaviour was “erratic” before and during the production of the band’s new album Rock or Bust. The drummer rarely attended parts of the album run-up including photo and video shoots which led to speculation of his place in the band.
Young says:
"It put us in a difficult situation. It put us in a spot where we couldn't move forward. Does the guy show up? Is he reliable to do his job in good shape? We've always been a solid, reliable unit.
"Phil created his own situation. It's a hard thing to say about the guy. He's a great drummer, and he's done a lot of stuff for us. But he seems to have let himself go. He's not the Phil we've known from the past."
He adds:
"When you get into that land, it's very hard. I don't know the exact situation. I can only say, from our perspective that the guy needs to sort himself out."
Rudd is currently under house arrest pending his return to court on November 27th.

SLASH takes U2 booze slip-up in good graces
As SLASH, an admitted recovering alcoholic, was greeted to a “Welcome to Dublin” case of Guinness courtesy of U2, the guitarist took the kind gesture.
Upon landing in Dublin for his show at the 3Arena on November 10th, Slash had an Irish delicacy waiting for him.
A case of Guinness sent from U2 faced the recovering alcoholic and despite public backlash, the guitarist took it in his stride and tweeted:
"Many thanks to @U2 for the 'Welcome to Dublin' case of Guinness! The only thing I miss about being sober."
Good guy Slash.

New DROWNING POOL on the way for early 2015
DROWNING POOL will be making a return come early next year with a shed-load of new material.
Pierce speaks to Metalholic:
"We have more songs written now than our entire back catalog. We have so many songs. In the dressing room today, I was working on some music. Now it's a matter of, what kind of record do we wanna make?
"We have heavier songs, lighter songs, some traditional-sounding Drowning Pool songs, and we have what I call Drowning Pool evolved songs. We wanna get in there sooner than later — hopefully March or April at the latest — to record the next CD and then keep going."
He adds:
"I keep pushing the acoustic record. We have tons of songs ready to play acoustic style. And we sit around and do that a lot — in the back of the bus and every now and then we'll go to radio stations and we'll just goof off. So, yes, at some point there will be one. It's just a matter of time when we can get to it."
This will be the second album featuring main vocals from JASEN MORENO who stepped in to RYAN MCCOMBS old position.

GUNS N’ ROSES film?
Reckless Road, a book documenting the early days of GnR, is set to be made in a feature film with an A-list casting.
Marc Canter’s “Reckless Road”, the book documenting the making of Appetite for Destruction, is set to be made into a feature length film after around 4 months of planning that will include well known actors, although details have yet to be released.
Speaking to MyGNRForum, Canter says:
"I do have a big say-so on the script, which is still being put together now, but so far it's looking cool.
"I am going to see that everyone in the cast is doing their job and doing justice to the band. Since I was there, I know what the dialog was between the band for many of the events that took place.
"When you find out who is making the movie, you will then understand that it will be very cool. I'm proud of all the hard work that was put into this project and it's just going to kick ass. In no way will it be a cheesy movie like Rock Star."
He goes on to comment on frontman Axl Rose, who has not given support to the proposal:
"Axl doesn't support anything to do with the old band except playing their songs live. However, I do think he will be happy with the fact that it will clear up some stories that have been said about him from those days that were told incompletely. So setting the record straight on some of those events will be a good thing for him to see happen.
"Axl should know by now that I have his back and that it will be done right. If I'm involved in a GNR project, then you know I have their backs. There is a great story about the birth of the band which I was very much involved in.
"This has nothing to do with where the band is today. The history is very important and that's why Axl was the one who was most supportive of me documenting what they were doing when they first started out."
Canter, who has been friends with Slash for many years, published “Reckless Road” in 2008 which included exclusive content from the album production.

First batch of DOWNLOAD bands released
This morning at 8am DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL announced their first round of mouth-watering line up additions.
SLIPKNOT, JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK STONE CHERRY and FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH are the first bands to be confirmed for the 2015 festival, and what a start!
There was no way ‘Knot wouldn’t play download. Promoting their new album “5: The Gray Chapter” and kicking off their UK tour in January it was unlikely they would skip with notorious heavy metal weekend.
Frontman COREY TAYLOR comments: "Being invited back to Download always feels like coming home. Headlining for the third time feels like the culmination of a life's dream – it's an honour and we're all looking forward to it."
JUDAS PRIEST, who last appeared at the festival in 2008, say: "We're thrilled to be performing at Download 2015 as the band continues its 40th anniversary Redeemer of Souls World Tour, bringing us home to hear the roar of our Priest family."
BLACK STONE CHERRY guitarist BEN WILLS says: "To come back as headliners of the second stage, for the second time, is just unreal. We'll be back to rock your ass and give you the best show we can." BSC were last year’s “secret band” for Download.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH’s guitarist ZOLTAN BATHORY comments: "Download is a bona fide global rock'n'roll destination. Everyone brings their A-game – the bands and the audience. You rarely see crazy crowds like this. It's the place where we may have broken the record for biggest crowd surfing in recorded history." This will be the band’s first Download appearance since their two-part album release “The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell”
Tickets will be on sale from Thursday 20th November 9am.
Further updates soon.

MALCOLM YOUNG not heard Rock or Bust
Former AC/DC guitarist hasn’t listened to the band’s new record Rock or Bust, says brother Angus.
Young dementia had been confirmed back in September from family members and it has said his symptoms began showing back before Black Ice was recorded along with the tour following the release.
Speaking to Rolling Stone, Angus comments:
“It’s something that had been happening for a long time. The symptoms had surfaced even before the last project. He was still capable of knowing what he wanted to do.
“I said to him, ‘Do you want to go through with what we’re doing?’ And he said, ‘Shit, yeah.’ He liked to finish what he started.”
As a result of his condition, Young was left unable to remember his own classic riffs and was getting treatment during the Black Ice tour between 2008 and 2010. Angus says:
“He had to relearn a lot of things”
“It was very strange for him. But he was always a confident guy, and we made it work. He still likes his music. We make sure he has his Chuck Berry, a little Buddy Holly.”
In other AC/DC news, Angus has commented on the ongoing PHIL RUDD investigation in which the drummer faces 7 years in prison if found guilty of threatening to kill and possession of illegal substances:
“We haven’t had contact,” says the guitarist. “He’s got himself in a pickle. We had a few issues with him – it was hard even to get him to do the recording. Then he was supposed to do promos with us, video shoots and a few other things and he never showed up for that. It’s a pretty tough call for us.”

DROPKICK MURPHYS involved in fatal accident
Due to an accident involving their tour bus, DROPKICK MURPHYS were forced to cancel their Tulsa show.
Those aboard the bus were left shaken up after a pedestrian threw himself in the path of the tour bus, an effort expected to have been a suicide.
A statement from the band gives a brief overview of the incident:
“We were en route to Dallas airport to drop off singer Al Barr, who’s flying home for the funeral of a lifelong friend.
“Just north of Austin a pedestrian suddenly ran onto the highway in front of our tour bus. Police suspect a suicide. We were left with a driver who’s been severely shaken up, and a bus too damaged to continue.
“We tried every possible way to get our band and gear to Tulsa, but we’ve simply run out of time.”
“Thank you all so much for your compassion. We appreciate the thoughts and prayer on behalf of all involved.”
The band’s support for the tour, BRYAN MCPHERSON and BLOOD OR WHISKEY went on to play a free show as an alternative to the concert.

NAPALM DOUBTFUL
NAPALM DEATH guitarist MITCH HARRIS will be sitting on the bench for the band’s upcoming tour.
The band’s tour was announced along with their new album (2015) and fans were overloaded with excitement. At least until they broke the news of the guitarist’s absence on the tour due to “illness within the family” via their Facebook page;
"Due to illness within his family, we would like to announce that Mitch Harris will unfortunately not be performing with us for the near future. We stress that this is not a permanent arrangement, although we are unsure exactly when Mitch will return under the circumstances.
Naturally, we sympathise and wish Mitch all the best for now. In the meantime we will be joined by guitarists who we know can grind it out in his absence."
I can only wish a quick recovery for Harris’ family member and that he’ll be back hurting our ears in no time!
The question now will be who will stand in for the time being and of course I’ll be keeping you all updated.

DEICIDE frontman GLEN BENTON wants some calm
The DEICIDE frontman breaks his scary, Jesus-hating persona to share a sensitive side
Renowned heavy metal badass GLEN BENTON has shared his concerns of violence at the band’s shows.
Speaking to OC Weekly, he states that he would rather see smiles than stitches;
"Well we've seen some crazy shit over the years; death metal pits can get crazy. We've seen fights and people over doing with aggression and we've had to barricade in dressing rooms to wait till things mellowed out, years ago. I don't know I've never felt scared, but I did feel a bit disappointed a few times, it is about fun not violence on that level. We just saw a kid recently split his head open, after getting knocked out and we don't like it anytime anyone gets hurt at the shows, it's not a good thing. At the end of the day I'd rather see a kid go home smiling about the show rather than with stitches."
Although he has a point and isn’t wrong, it still feels almost like he’s asking for heavy metal to be taken out of heavy metal. Nothing beats the drop down of a chunky song for the crowd to spin the pit, then initiate when the thrash kicks in.
All metalheads know if you go into a mosh pit actively looking to hurt someone, you sure as shit shouldn’t be in the pit. Obviously people fall but they get picked right back up again by fellow moshers. Any injuries are down to chance or stupidity.

MEGADETH set to return to studio early 2015
A little bit of lighter news today as MEGADETH say they’ll be working on a new album come January 2015.
In a statement at the Classic Rock Awards Show, they said;
“We're commencing the writing process right now and we're going to start [recording] in January of next year. We'll be touring in August with a very huge English metal band in the States and South America, and we're hoping to get our record out sometime in the summer."
This should be interesting as the band previously promised “a different approach” on a new record and were hoping for Producer Max Norman, but nothing has been confirmed.

PHIL RUDD murder plot charge dropped
The drama of the AC/DC drummer’s arrest continues with the charge to procure murder dropped from the case.
Rudd was arrested after a raid on his Tauranga home yesterday. Bail was posted and his return to court is set for the 27th November, but will he not be facing the charge to procure murder. The names of those involved (those who were targeted and the alleged hitman) have been confirmed but details cannot be shared for legal reasons.
Although the most serious charge has been dropped, as Rudd’s lawyer commented that it should never have been made in the first place, the drummer still faces up to 7 years in prison if found guilty on the threaten to kill charge and drug offences.
Rudd’s lawyer Paul Mabey commented “I was advised by Crown solicitor Greg Hollister-Jones that he had reviewed the police file and the available evidence to support the charge of attempting to procure murder. He had formed the view that there was insufficient evidence to justify that charge. He has now withdrawn the charge.”
“It should never have been laid. The Crown solicitor’s opinion was not sought”
Mabey also stated the drug offences were “minor”.
“The damage to Mr Rudd is calculable” he adds. “Questions arise to the degree of care taken by those responsible for arresting and charging him. My client suffered unnesassary and extremely damaging publicity as a result of widespread and sensational reporting of a very serious allegation, which on any basis was never justified”
AC/DC offered a statement on the matter last night but no comment was made.

AC/DC release statement on PHIL RUDD charges
AC/DC “Blindsided” by Rudd drama but vow to go on
Phil Rudd’s arrest earlier today has been officially addressed by the band with a short statement;
“We’ve only become aware of Phil’s arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album ROCK OR BUST and upcoming tour next year”
In recent developments in an interview with The Melbourne Herald Sun, the man who was the intended hitman has spoken about Rudd saying he was “a good guy who had burnt a lot of bridges”. The alleged killer is quoted to have admitted to being friends with Rudd but offers no further information on the murder plot.

GUNS N’ ROSES have a record to be released “really soon”
So GUNS N’ ROSES have popped back in the limelight that surprisingly doesn’t involve a lawsuit or rotation of band members!
A statement from keyboard player of the banc Dizzy Reed gives an idea on what GN’R has been up to;
"There's a lot of material that's already done and I think it's in the process of being finished and eventually we'll pick out which songs need to come out with which other songs. So that's in the works. Hopefully it will be out really soon."
I want to have high hopes for this new stuff but can’t help that with all the drama surrounding the band, well, I won’t be the only one. It will be interesting to see what the sound is, assuming it has been written post-Chinese democracy.

After the long wait, little leaks and downright cock teasing, Bloodstone & Diamonds is now being streamed ahead of the release on the 10th November. Who wants a listen?

SOIL vocalist RYAN MCCOMBS in hospital after suffering a stroke
Adding to the wave of shitty news in metal this week, Ryan McCombs has suffered a stroke and is now in hospital.
The forty year old frontman took to Facebook himself to share the news;
“Yes’em, I have been hospitalised after having a stroke in my sleep on Sunday night. Thanks to Izzi [McCombs partner] for making me go to the hospital Monday morning we caught it before my stupid brain made too much of a mess of me...I’m already doing better but I’m warned it’ll be a bit of a road...
The Angry Hobbit is a stubborn prick and I believe shit will right itself in time...I mean hell, my stupid dumb right hand only made me take 15 minutes to write this...lol seriously.
That’s whooping the horses booty from just last night...in great hands here and Izzi is keeping a protective eye..please give me time on the messages that have been sent on this. Thanks for the well wishes..bright sky’s fuckers”
McCombs' positive attitude does make the news a little easier to take in, but after being in a mosh pit with the guy just a week ago it’s still a bit surreal.
I wish all the best to Ryan and hope for a quick recovery

SLAYER Reign In Blood Germain Beer Stein
It’s not very often that metal bands release merch as awesome as this, but SLAYER have changed the game.
Hot off the press is the new SLAYER BEER STEINS! Quite possibly the most metal way to drink your beer before using a ram’s head for your wine. You can check it out here and grab one could have grabbed one for $120 (which is probably like £100 but I’m no post office)- before they sold out.
After a slight cringe at the price you can appreciate the cost when you consider only 250 are being made worldwide and it’s no cheap plastic either.
There might be none left but that will not stop me staring longingly at it, imagining the good times we could have had together.

WAYNE STATIC’S widow TERA WRAY responds to drug overdose rumour of late husband’s death
Tera Wray, the recently made widow of Wayne Static, has spoken out to put to rest rumours of her late husband’s cause of death. Official reports are that Static passed peacefully in his sleep but when the news was first released people instantly assumed an overdose.
One of those was PAPA ROACH frontman JACOBY SHADDIX, who posted an emotional paragraph on Instagram. After Static’s cause of death was confirmed by his publicist, Shaddix was quick to apologise for his outburst but it would seem Tera Wray’s post was aimed at the Papa Roach frontman without directly mentioning his name;
“Today is my husband’s birthday and instead of celebrating his 49th year of life, we are grieving his short 48 years. It has come to my attention that many have questions and opinions about the cause of the death of my husband in which I now find is necessary to further respond.
Wayne was not taking drugs, if anything he was a drinker, and did not OD. The autopsy will be done by this weekend at the soonest, however for some of the test results it will take up to 6 months to get the actual death certificate finalized. I hope that the results I am given will have some insight, but they told me what I will receive this weekend will be deemed incomplete until all tests are back.
We can all have opinions as to why – We all know that both Wayne and I had abused narcotics with alcohol in the past, which I am sure took a toll on his body, heart and soul. We were packing to travel on tour and were to leave that night, but it was Halloween and we decided to leave in the morning with our animals. I wish we had traveled that night then maybe had he fallen ill we could have gotten to the hospital. I will never know.
I find it disrespectful to our families and myself for negative spins that are being posted. For Wayne’s music peers to take it upon themselves to make comment about us, when they are not part of our daily lives or know us outside of tour and music, just to grab a headline to get themselves at the top of the gossip page is disgusting. This is not about you or what you feel is your expert opinion on people you have no relationship with, so shame on you – Do not act like we liked your band either. Wayne was a good soul and he is gone – That is what we do know. Please show some respect to him and his memory – We thank all that have left kind and positive messages in support of this terrible time – I am sure Wayne misses you too …… Tera Wray Static. “
Assumption lies this was directed at Shaddix (although when you assume...) but FEAR FACTORY’s DINO CAZARES was another to make comments on Static’s death being related to drug abuse but it was Shaddix’s that received more attention,
Again, my thoughts are still with those close to Wayne.

AC/DC PHIL RUDD charged with attempting to procure murder
Iconic band AC/DC’s drummer PHIL RUDD was arrested early this morning after police raided his house in Tauranga, New Zealand responding to information from a member of public.
Along with the alleged hitman charges, noting to have taken place on the 25th and 26th September, Rudd faces further offences of possession of methamphetamine, cannabis and threatening to kill. He gave no plea to any of the charges at Tauranga District Court and if found guilty he could spend up to 10 years in prison.
Rudd’s bail was posted and is set to return to court in three weeks. No statement has been given with regards to the details of the reported offences and there was no comment from the drummer on the subject.
Speculation began when Rudd did not attend a video shoot in London early last month on the run up to the band’s 16th album ROCK OR BUST release. Fans were told his absence was down to family reasons from frontman BRIAN JOHNSON but no details or explanation was later given.

DEFTONES are doing things!
Before, 2014 was going to be a chill out. March came and they said “Fuck it, we’re going to write”. Up until now we’ve heard nothing...until now.
DEFTONES posted earlier this week
Now, 2 weeks isn’t that long, but it shows progress in new material! Could we be looking at new DEFTONES material as soon as early 2015? Probably not. Summer could be a bit more promising and I’m sure people will not mind waiting!

Metal fan’s EXODUS lyric post seen as “terrorist threats”
We all know that metal fans can be a bit scary and you’d likely avoid sitting next to us on a bus and we love when this stereotype gets justice in the end.
Recently, 31 year old James Evans from Kentucky posted a segment of EXODUS lyrics from “Class Dismissed (A Hate Primer)” saying;
“Student bodies lying dead in the halls, a blood splattered treatise of hate. Class dismissed is my hypothesis, gun fire ends in debate.”
Sadly for dearest James, Kentucky officials took this post a bit too literal and proceeded to arrest him on the basis it was “terrorist threats”. Evans spent a full 8 days in jail before as he couldn’t afford the bail and was due in court over the matter.
Not so sadly for dearest James, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) managed to get a hold of the situation and sooner rather than later, ACLU attorney Bill Sharp got involved and the case was dismissed shortly after.
I can’t help but think there’s still a little justice left to be had against these officials. Granted the gun safety in schools is strict and a touchy issue in America, but not giving someone the chance to defend themselves against some jumped-up charges is unfair. Not to mention the detrimental ripples in life if you have anything dubbed as “terrorist” against your name.
I can imagine some discretion will be had from dearest James in future when it comes to posting lines that he rocks his shit out to.

Christian extremist murders teen Metalhead for “practicing witchcraft”
Horrifying news from Oklahoma as reports surfaced that 19 year old Jacob Andrew Crockett was nearly beheaded from a stab wound to the neck.
21 year old Issiah Zoar Marin, who is currently in police custody after being arrested and charged with first degree murder, was reportedly playing cards with his brother and the victim before getting into an argument over Christianity.
This led to the victim being accused of witchcraft, Marin picking up a large black sword and attacking Crockett.
Marin then called the police himself and admitted to the murder. An official statement reads;
When police were dispatched to the area, they found Marin walking along State Highway 51 just west of Stillwater. He was covered in blood and was still carrying the sword in his hand. When the officers approached Marin, he simply said he had just hacked someone to death [with a machete].
A facebook memorial page has published images of Jacob, clearly showing he was an avid metal fan wearing band merch from Cannibal corpse, Dying Fetus and Black Sabbath.
After this gruesome act Marin should, in my opinion, rot in a cell for the rest of his days.

WAYNE STATIC of STATIC-X dies at 48
The rock world shook with the news of the passing of STATIC-X frontman WAYNE (Richard Wells) STATIC, confirmed by his publicist at Fixt Publicity.
Early rumours had put Static’s death down to a drug overdose. An Instagram tribute posted by PAPA ROACH frontman JACOBY SHADDIX shows a heartfelt statement about drug addiction in the “rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle”;
"RIP Wayne…. This is so sad. Too many musicians are dying from overdoses. I'm serious; addiction is real and takes fools out. No one is invincible. So glad I live a sober life today. The number of friends that I have lost to addiction is crazy. If you are struggling with addiction, get some help before it's too late. I know drugs and partying are part of the 'rock 'n' roll lifestyle,' but damn, how many more gotta die??? Fuck the lifestyle, I want life!!!! See you on the other side, Wayne…."
Despite the rumours, it was later confirmed that Static passed peacefully in his sleep. An official press release from Static’s family confirming his cause of death:
HOLLYWOOD, CA (November 1, 2014) – Today is a sad day in the music industry – Front-man and founding member WAYNE STATIC of STATIC-X passed away quietly in his sleep at his home last night.
The couple was getting ready to leave for a Fall/Winter tour this morning. They were to have left the night before on Halloween, but decided they would head out early in the morning November 1st.
The couple, known for partying heavy, had left hard drugs in 2009 and had not touched them since. Static’s first solo album – Pighammer – was a tribute to his new non-drug life and hoped it would help others to get clean from hard chemical drugs.
More official information about his passing will be released in the following days. This is not a drug related incident or an O. D. Please be courteous to his family and wife and leave positive messages
Further tributes poured in over social media for the late frontman, a handful including OZZY OSBOURNE, MOTORHEAD, DEVIN TOWNSEND and many more rock icons.
Wayne Static will be survived by his wife Tera Way.
My thoughts are with his close ones at this time.
As always, stay heavy.

COREY TAYLOR speaks on JOEY JORDISON’S departure from SLIPKNOT
In the (near enough) year that SLIPKNOT has been without [former drummer] JOEY JORDISON, details regarding the split have never been concrete. Whenever asked about it, the band’s frontman COREY TAYLOR would always dismiss the question and pass it off “due to certain legalities”.
In an interview with HATEBREED frontman JAMEY JASTA on Jasta Show, Taylor gives the best answer to the constantly repeated question on Jordison’s split;
"There's legalities [that are involved which prevent me from talking about it], but at the same time — and people need to realize this — there's respect. I'm not gonna talk about Joey's life, because it's not my place, and people need to realize that. If Joey wants to talk about the situation, he can. I can only talk about how it pertains to this band, and the only way I've been able to sum it up — and this is the broadest term — is that sometimes you're on the same road, and you'll reach a T section, and sometimes you turn together, and sometimes you split. And this time we split. It was just that simple. We just weren't able to work anymore. And that's it."
"I'm not gonna sit here and dog somebody that I spent 15 years building something amazing with — I'm not gonna do that. And the fans need to understand that. And I think for the most part most of them do, but there's always gonna be those people who just want a little more so they can talk shit. And that's the only reason why they want the full story — so they can talk shit."
It’s good to see that, on the surface, there’s no bad blood between Taylor and Jordison.
Dealing with a split like this has never before been so mature and a lot of bands could learn.
Following up on the subject, Jasta asked if Jordison was missed in the recording of the new albums 5: The Gray Chapter.
"You know… That's a great question, by the way. And I'd never really thought about it until you just brought it up. Because, at the time, you're just kind of trying to get through it. You've got this idea of what the album could sound like. Everybody's really positive, so you're not ignoring it, but you're just kind of charging through. There are definitely times where you miss his ability to, kind of, see. But me and Clown [percussionist] and Jim [Root, guitarist]… It was kind of like the times where you miss Paul [Gray, late SLIPKNOT bassist] and what he brought to it, and everybody, kind of, had to fill in those blanks."
"Me and Jim are the first ones to say that we learned so much from working with Paul that we've been able to take his, I don't wanna call it 'method,' but the way he used to do things, and we've applied it to what we did. And it was kind of like that with Joey - Joey, for the most part, was definitely a general in the studio, because he had such a great mind for it and knowing how to get the right kind of sonics and how to do certain things, and what the other potential for, like, ear candy or intros and stuff like that. So you kind of have to fill that blank in as well."
Adding to the topic of the new album, Jasta asked about the new drummer and if the rest of the band “cracked the whip” with him. Nowhere in the interview was the certain identity of the new addition to the band, but it is now basically set in stone that it’s JAY WEINBERG.
"We were kicking his ass. Oh yeah. But he was loving it, man. Ah, dude, he was so into it. 'Cause he's a fan, you know?! There was a part of him that was kind of pinching himself that this was happening, but then the other part of it was just like, 'Let's fucking do it.' So it was really, really cool."
Celebrating the albums “#1 record” of last week has been a great success for the band, although expectations of a second week running is slim as pop icon TAYLOR SWIFT’s new album “1989” has been projected at over a million sales when released. Which is upsetting.
As always, stay heavy.
