Best Degree Ever?

So I recently stumbled upon this course which is by far the coolest qualification to have;

A Degree in Heavy Metal. That’s right, you read that correctly.
It may as well say on your award “I am certifiably awesome”.

Looking into the course content it focuses mainly on music performance that takes you to a whole bunch of venues and concludes in a UK tour with your band! It goes on to cover the back end of music business (event management, promotions, live sound and so much more) giving experience for people looking to get into the music industry without being the centre of attention.

The course also educates in heavy metal theory looking at the history and contextualisation of heavy metal. So not only will you know how to play, promote and generally have an amazing foothold in the genre, you’ll be able to know exactly what it means.

Being the only course of its kind in the entire UK this degree comes with some amount of demand. Based on the rock scene in Nottingham, with many rock venues including Rock City, the success rate and contacts you would gain from this is unimaginable.

I could definitely get behind the idea of this being a mandatory course in all universities and colleges in the UK. This is as close to “School of Rock” as you will ever get (minus Jack Black, of course)

If being able to say “I have a degree in Heavy Metal” isn’t a life goal, I’m lost for what is.
