In a recent interview with TeamRock, Richard Kruspe [Guitarist. RAMMSTEIN] has said although the band are currently on hiatus, a split is out of the question.
Despite the silence from the German group, fans can expect DVD releases of live performances in their absence.
The band make the effort to meet at least once a year to discuss the future and decide whether to move on with a new album following their last release of Live Ist Fur Alle Da back in 2009.
Kruspe says “I think Rammstein can never be over. Those things develop their own chemistry, their own energy. Even if we said it would be over, it would never be over. If you’re asking me if we’re doing something right now, the answer is: ‘We’re taking time off.’”
He adds: “We met a couple of months ago and we were just talking - We decided not to do anything at the moment, so we’ll meet up next year again.
But there’s so many things we have in the pipeline – we have a live DVD, another live DVD, another live DVD. We have so many that we have to work that through.”
Although RAMMSTEIN are on a break, Kruspe has been working on his band Emigrate that have the release of their second album in November. To add to the excitement, Lemmy Kilmister [Frontman,Motorhead].
To close, Kruspe gave reassuring comments of RAMMSTEIN’s place - “We will come back together,” he adds. “I love touring with Rammstein, and if somebody has a vision for a record, we’ll do another record.”
What do you think? RAMMSTEIN return or they’ve unofficially called it a day?
In the meantime, here they are killing it at Download 2013
As always, stay heavy.
